Strakonice

Hospital Strakonice provides a wide range of acute, intensive, follow-up, outpatient, and diagnostic care for patients from the Strakonice area and surrounding regions. It provides care in both general and specialized fields, including internal medicine, surgery, neurology, pediatrics, gynecology and obstetrics, anesthesiology and intensive care, pulmonology, follow-up care, rehabilitation, and a range of specialized outpatient clinics.
An integral part of the hospital is also its modern diagnostic and therapeutic infrastructure, particularly radiology—including CT and MRI—central laboratories, nuclear medicine, pharmacy services, and clinical pharmacy. The hospital thus provides comprehensive care ranging from prevention and diagnosis through acute treatment to follow-up rehabilitation and long-term patient support.
If the patient does not communicate with the hospital staff in German or English, we recommend that patients provide their own interpreter before arriving at the hospital.
The hospital provides telephone interpreting provided by the commercial company SOPHIA. This service is paid by the patient!

Payment method
If a foreign patient is not adequately covered by the health insurance, the hospital requires a cash payment for the health care provided, only in exceptional cases by bank transfer.
We ask all our patients, who do not have czech health insurance, to proceed according to the following rules:
EU citizens, who carry a valid EU health insurance card
There is no need to pay for our acute care. Please allow a member of hospital staff to make a copy of your health insurance card, so that we can contact your insurance company back home regarding all the payments.
EU citizens, who do NOT carry a valid EU health insurance card
Outpatient care: We kindly ask you to pay cash for our acute care. Please pay to a designated member of the hospital staff. You will be given a receipt (a bill), which we advise you to present to your health insurance company back at home, to be reimbursed.
Inpatient care: There are two options how to pay.
1) Pay in cash to a designated member of our staff. You will be given a receipt to take home and present to your health insurance company to be reimbursed.
2) Please contact your health insurance company to issue a so called guarantee of payment for healthcare. We ask your insurance company to email this document to: pojistovny@nemst.cz. If your insurance company will provide us with this statement, there is no need for further payments.
Non-EU citizens, who carry a valid card of a commercial insurance
Please present the insurance card or the contract intself to a member of our staff. We will then find out what kind of care is covered by your commercial insurance and we will proceed accordingly. If you are entitled to full care, there will be no need for further payments.
Patients without any valid document of health insurance
We kindly ask you to pay cash for your care, to a designated member of hospital staff. You will be given a receipt for our care.
We thank you for cooperating with us on settling the expenses of the care we provided for you.
